Job details - Painter
Job Type: Full-time
A responsible painter with an eye for detail is a crucial part of our manufacturing process. The safe and efficient handling of materials is a big part of this position and overhead cranes are used to assist in moving materials. The painter will need to be able to prioritize the work and direct another painter and any helpers. This person must be able to work well under the pressure of customer deadlines. This is a wet paint application, not a power coat process.
The painter:
Works safely and maintains housekeeping in accordance with Employee Manual
Good math skills and mechanical ability needed
Works with the Shop Superintendent on scheduling and work flow
Insures proper preparation for each job prior to painting
Coordinates jobs requiring sandblasting, galvanizing etc. with Shop Superintendent
Mixing, usage and storage of paint products including enamels, epoxies and urethane enamels
Applies enamel primers using an airless spray gun
Applies epoxy and urethane enamels using a (high volume low pressure) pressure pot
Insures proper staging of products for drying
Inspects for a high quality finish on all painted products
Maintains paint and paint supply inventory
Insures proper cleanup and storage of all paint products
Responsible for maintenance of equipment and paint shop
Maintains cleanliness and organization of the paint shop
Can include some grinding, sanding, bondo, and caulking of products
Some heavy lifting is required
Works well with little supervision
Insures that all products going out the door have a top quality paint finish
